At the beginning of each month I post a reading wrap up of all the books I read the prior month.
This month was a shorter reading month for me. In November, I participated in a writing challenged called “NaNoWriMo” which is short for National Novel Writing Month. Which was great for my writing game, but I guess you could say it cut in to my reading time. So this month’s list will be brief. Without further adieu:
Non-Fiction
Book Girl
by Sarah Clarkson
You know you love books when you read books about books. Am I right? This the second book about books I’ve read in two months, and I have to admit I preferred last month‘s I’d Rather Be Reading. I wanted this book to be about the celebration of books and the love of books that we book girls share. But what it felt like, for me, was mostly convincing me that I should love books. (Even though I think only a true book girl would pick up a book entitled “Book Girl.”) You can read my full review here.
Praying Circles Around Your Children
by Mark Batterson
This is a true manual for parenting. It is such a jam-packed, power-punching little book that no parent should pass up! Just when I thought I understood praying over my kids, I turn another page and find even more value and knee-buckling truths. I couldn’t sit down to read it without a highlighter. Couldn’t recommend it more if I tried!
Fiction
A Court of Mist and Fury
by Sarah J. Maas
Rarely do I find a sequel that ends even better than its predecessor. This second installment of the series almost lost me a few times, not from boredom but from being so, so long. But I held on. And goodness sakes, I’m glad I did. I hated the ending of this book. And I loved the ending of this book. I hated it in the very best way.
This book, well series, is certainly not for everyone. It is a stretch from my typical reading, but sometimes that really fun! (To see the full description and my more detailed review click here.)
Now, read on, friends!
