My son was staring at the bookshelves in our living room and asked me, “Have you read all of these?”

When I answered, “No,” he asked how many I had read. The truth is, I’ve read less than half of them.

Does that keep me from getting more books? No way. In fact, a friend of mine tagged me in an article this week on my Facebook page about why it’s so important to surround yourself with more books than you could possibly read. Phew.

Of course, this article talks about buying books to fill up your bookshelves. But let’s be honest, I want to read more books than I am willing to buy. I mean, I have four kids; I am a stay-at-home mom (who brings in extra money on the side but not a full salary), and we make a big effort to live beneath our means and have no debt other than our home (but that’s for another blog another day)…

All that to say, I like free things. And I know you do too. I mean, shop at Costco to get free samples and I visit the library at least once a week to get myself and my children tons of books at no cost!

So when I’m given the opportunity to OWN free books, you know I jump at it! It’s like being given the gift of knowledge! I want to share this gift with you!

A friend of mine told me about this reward club where you can earn free books and Bibles, and even I thought it sounded smarmy. If it wasn’t for my friend’s integrity, then I would have thought it was a scam. But I checked it out and realized it was for real…and they were good books. I’m talking about best-sellers that I already had on my to-read list.

It’s ridiculously easy to earn the reward points by answer a few questions When I had enough points to get books that quickly, I thought they would be ebooks. But no, they mailed me HARDBACK books.

Anyway, without further ado, I want to share this amazing resource with you so that you can start receiving your own books. If you sign up for a free account with My Reader Rewards Club here, then you will automatically start with your first 25 points (and yes, full disclosure, I’ll get 10 points as well). Just a couple more steps and you’ll earn enough for your first free book. And you get to choose which book you want from their large selection.

There are so many options to fit so many reading styles. Fiction, nonfiction, parenting books (as you can see by my own haul below), devotionals, Bibles, children’s books. Share with your own friends and earn even more.

You’re going to love this, or I wouldn’t share this with you. Don’t click the link and sign up…if you don’t like free stuff. Or free books. *insert guffaw here*

As the aforementioned article says, “your overstuffed library isn’t a sign of failure or ignorance, it’s a badge of honor.” Surround yourself with knowledge, i.e. books, and you can always keep learning.
