Anybody else spend too much time wishing for the next great thing? Over here wishing for fall. I’m a bit of a homebody, but right now in our life, we have an activity or event going every single day of the week.

I tend to look to future and wish for this busy season to be over so that we can move on to the next. Wishing for October/November because they are my favorite months. Wishing for the next project. Wishing for the next vacation.

Wishing, wishing, wishing…away life.

Instead of being grateful for the days we have, the season we have, the time we have, the homes we have, the memories we are making, the life we are creating…. When I spend all my time wishing for the next _____, I get grumpy, anxious, and apathetic. I’m busy focusing on the negative side of all this life that I have. Have you ever been there?

What if we remember, instead, how we used to wish and pray for what we are living in right now? Wishing for the projects and opportunities that we are now working on. Wishing for the family that is so loud around us. Wishing for our bodies to be healthy again.

This is what I’m choosing to focus on today. My answered prayers. Because fall will come one way or another. But today won’t ever come again.

We have this precious time handed to us, but it is a limited resource. Let’s take time to enjoy it.
