Hi. My name is Jessica. I’m a procrastinator. Phew. Now that that’s out of the way…
This month, I’ve been in a challenge against procrastination…which happens to be one of my mountains. In fact, when the challenge to write down and complete 10 procrastinated items was presented to me in a women’s group that I’m a part of, I groaned. Audibly groaned.
I like the idea of getting a lot done, and wouldn’t you know that I finished four of the ten items within the first week. But let’s be honest, I didn’t complete any more for TWO weeks.
Yep. I procrastinated. Like I said, my mountain. I even wrote a blog last year about getting up and finishing when we don’t feel like it. Then this last week of January, I glanced at the calendar and knew I had to boogie! I obviously should have reread my own blog!
Here I am with two days left in the month and THREE procrastinated items left. Go figure.
My point in telling you all of this is, don’t put your stuff off until the last second. It’s January, and a lot of you may have already give up on your New Year’s resolutions or even forgotten them! But you still have ELEVEN months left! Pick yourself up, find your list and work a little bit each day toward it!
Are you a procrastinator like me? Would you be interested in this 30-day challenge from the book Imagine Big? Write your list of 10 things you have put off (and off and off), and start February 1st to work on them each day until you finish all 10 by the end of the month. Here’s the thing, if you slack off for a week or two like me, just pick yourself back up. Take a Saturday or whatever is your day off, and tackle one at a time! I finished three of mine over the weekend!
A little bit each day goes a long way! But it’s always harder alone. Find a friend to do the challenge with! Or I would be honored to be your accountability. Comment below or email me your progress! I’d love to hear from you.
Now, I’m off to clean out my fridge (#7 on my list).
